From the Halls of Montezu-uma

to the shores of Tripoli,

our own military never thought

they’d be deployed in DC!

Did you ever think you’d see the day.

Did you think there’d come a time,

when a peaceful protest in the street

would be treated as a crime?

When a nation claiming free-eedom

and the right to think and speak,

would be brought down by a fascist coup

that attacks the poor and weak?

First they came for for foreign immigrants

workin’ hard to make it through.

Then they came for college stu-udents

and for labor unions, too.

Now they’re comin’ for come-e-di-ans

and journalists who speak out

against bigots and the billionaires,

That is why we rage and shout!

Now Trump’s acts of insurre-ec-tion

are clear for all to see

declaring war on US ci-i-ties

using our own military!

We the people claim our power now

and Trump does not have a throne!

So we’ll sing and march as we demand

that the Nash-nal Guard go home!
