A Winter Wonderland or Not

In the lane, snow is lacking.
Down the way, there is fracking.
A beautiful day
More heat on the way,
Wondering where’s the winter wonderland.

More storms, they are brewing.
The deniers they’re eschewing,
Unwilling to say
Nothing more than let’s pray,
Wondering where’s the winter wonderland.

In the meadow there is now a wildfire.
We’re not sure how far it’s going to spread.
Everything so dry and hot it’s tinder.
The trees nearby and wildlife are dead.

We do hope it’s not too late.
Need to do more than just wait.
If a future there’ll be
For our kids, you, and me,
Wondering where’s the winter wonderland.
